BACKGROUND
African Music Unsigned (AM Unsigned) is the first national music competition for unsigned artists; bands, vocal groups and solo artists for artists of African origin.
The competition provides a great opportunity for people from under privileged backgrounds to perform live in front of some of the country's top producers, Label execs promoters and DJs to exhibit their musical talent.
Application is free. There are going to be 4 heats taking place in September to cover the 4 cardinal points of London, with the winner of each heat going through to take place in the semi-final which will be held at the nomination launch in September. The winning acts from the heats and the semi-finals will be decided by the judges. From there, the 2 performers with the most votes will be selected to compete in the final at the African Music Awards at Wembley Arena on October 15.
The winner will be decided by online and SMS voting by the general public.
The winning act is offered a recording and management contract with AM Records, with an investment of up to £50,000 to release their single/album including professional studio time, promotional campaigns and much more. |
