The African Music Awards (AMA) Singing Contest is a television music competition to find new singing talent. The AMA Singing Contest is the first national music com- petition for unsigned artists; bands, vocal groups and solo artists for Africans. Created by Eric McKaiser for the African Music Awards organisation, it will begin on July 22 at Legacy Nite Clube, Finchley Road, London and contested by aspiring singers drawn from public auditions.
The organisers of the show have proposed for Vox Africa TV to become the broadcast partner for the show. Vox Af- rica will have the sole broadcast right to air the show on the Vox Africa network in the United Kingdom, part of Africa, and France, with spin-off behind-the-scenes shows.
There will be 3 judging panel made of celebrities in the field of music, TV and sports. In the televised audition phase of the show, contestants will sing in front of the judges and a live audience. Successful auditionees go through to the next stage, where judges narrow down the acts following
weekly live performances by the contestants.
